    100_5130
We have your basic fridge so i have not been able to crush my own ice until now

    2.  Big Frames!!!!!!

100_5125 I have planned  on decorating with pictures of my family in cool frames.  Now I have a frame with 21 4'x6' pictures for each of my babies.  I LOVE IT.

    and now for my biggie...

    1. a Wii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    100_5129

it is so freaking fun!  I got the console, the fit board and mario cart!  Super dooper cool.

Here is a video of Russell & Zoe playing the boxing game.  They are amazingly good at it.

well that is all i feel like doing on the Christmas front.  It was a wonderful time and the kids loved it, but i don't feel like downloading more pics!

On the amish front--I have been doing pretty well.  I have started to work out a little system.  I come up with a meal plan for two weeks.  I plan breakfasts & suppers.  I do breakfast since I no longer purchase cereal (on the whole)  I have been making different kinds of muffins, crepes, granola, eggs, breakfast casseroles, yogurt & fruit.  It seems to be working well.  I just have to remember to figure it out the night before.

Today I have been extremely productive...

I did all the laundry, did all the dishes, made granola, did school with R&Z, took a shower!, put the pictures in my frames, made breakfast-snack-lunch, and i know what I am going to make for supper (tomato soup & grilled cheese) and I might go get some lemons to make lemon curd (it is like a lemon custard that you can put on toast or as a filling for a tart, etc).  If it turns out well I am going to do orange & lime as well.

  • goodies

we just got back from Aldi's, hobby lobby and walmart.

We got the stuff to make the christmas boxes for me to paint like the ones at sams.  Told you i get stuck on things!  I got 6 paper mache boxes and then some green & red spray paint for the bast coat.  We also have some acrylic paint for the decorative part. One is a clear paint with glitter!  We also have some ribbon to make pretty bows for the top.  My sister is coming over tonight to help me with the boxes.

boxes christmas  these are the ones at sams that I am creating in my own way!

at Aldi's we got a whole bunch of sweet things like sugar, powered sugar, corn syrup, almond bark and things like that!  My sisters and I are having  a baking day on Sunday afternoon.  I plan on making:

    giant chocolate kiss
    candy canes
    apple cinnamon lollipops
    shortbread meltaways
    chocolate dipped pretzels sticks
    peppermint meringues

i'm jazzed about this.  i've never really just gotten to make a lot of candy/cookies at one time.  Adam is going to let me go do this without the kiddos so i won't be distracted by them!

I am making the goodies for stocking stuffers and for some of Adam's work peeps.

I already made the silly putty/slime stuff for the kids stockings.  but I realized that the two youngest kids on my list(like cora) shouldn't get the putty so I think I am going to make some stuffed things.  A stuffed bear with a bell for cora made out of felt and I am going to try to make a soft ball and bat for my nephew(1 1/2) out of socks!  Now this might not happen since it is not really necessary.  But i have dreams!

I have finished making two of the robes only one to go.  I was going to iron something cute on them but I couldn't find one for everyone.  So i might embroider a christmas design on them instead but i haven't really decided.

We did get the tree bought and put up this weekend!  It is very nice.  It is decorated as only a 5 and 3.5 year old can!  I had big dreams but they have sadly gone away in place of reality.  I wanted it to be gorgeous, but with no money and kids that want to do it I had to let it go.  I'll post pics later.

Time to go make lunch and have a coke!  Thanks for reading my ramblings!

  • need a teacher gift?   feeling a little crafty?

    go here:   http://missyballance.typepad.com/crafty_carnival/2006/11/pencil_toppers.html

These pencil toppers look really cute and are very easy to do.  At least the insructions make it look like it.  I haven't done it yet but I might!

    they just look like fun

Ok.  the guilt i felt for being lazy was too much so here are the pics of the two final stockings

    100_4923  adam's

    100_4925  mine! (weird angle)

    I really like them.

Also, here is a video of Cora walking!

As an aside, she has finally learned to use a regular sippy cup!   she is still not 100% at lifting it up to allow gravity to aid in delivering the beverage to the top but at least we will not be splattered by the milk from the straw of the other cups! yea!  it's the small things in life.

We are eventually going to take our family picture to send out for Christmas cards.  I had originally decided to have us all in either red or cream.  But now we are going to take the picture on our bed in jammies!  Here are the older two in the jammies.

  • just so i'm not a hypocrite.

I have ended up spending more on groceries than the $200.  we seem to be going through the staples a lot more lately.  Oatmeal, MILK, bread, hotdogs and the like.

We did score a flat of free double yoked eggs.  Our neighbor knows a guy from Georges and they can't sell the double yoked ones so he gets 3 flats free whenever he asks for them.  So he showed up the other day with a flat and we of course said yes, thank you.

On the whole, I think we are still doing better with the food bill. And the kids are enjoying the homemade foods. It is kinda like crafts that you can eat!  And who doesn't love a good craft?

Cora is walking all over the place.  Very cute.  I don't have video because i'm too lazy to get up and get the camera.  Maybe I'll get it later!

I'm excited.  I basically have all of my Christmas presents except a few little extra things!  I still need to make the stocking stuffers for family but all in all I'm done.  I also have all of the stocking done.  Again too lazy to take the pics right now.  I'll post later the pics and the video!
